Last post in the seo tips series we looked at creating a nice strong theme for your blog. Very very important for staying ranked for your chosen keywords. In this post we will look at finding related sites from which to build dofollow backlinks
Step 1 – Install Seoquake
Seoquake is available for almost every browser and it is an amazing seo tool. It can tell you alot of very useful information about almost any website you visit. For now I wont get into all the ins and outs of its use as that is an entire posts worth of info. I will just cover the basics needed for its use with this post.

Step 2 – Finding Related Dofollow Sites
This is by far one of the most time consuming jobs in building backlinks. There are thousands of sites related to your site topic but only a handful of really good dofollow sites. Luckily there are a few tools that can really help you.
First of all we visit http://www.datasystemsplus.net/keywordluv-search-engine/ where there is a great little tool. Just enter your particular keyword and it returns a list of sites that could be dofollow sites. It uses the google search api to search through some predetermined parameters. In this case it is looking for blogs that use keywordluv and commentluv. In the below example I am searching for “seo tips”:
So as you can see here we have been given a google list of some links, for this example I will use the 3rd link given. On visiting the site I activate my seoquake and spot a few important things:
So we have a little formation about this page but no info yet about the comments on the page. We scroll down the page in huge of some comments and links embedded in comments. Sometimes you might have a little hunt around a blog to find posts with comments and links. For this page its easy and we scroll down and see this:

Failing on my first link I repeat the process until I find a nice dofollow blog. As I said this can take a little time which is why it is very important to keep track of all the sites you visit via your bookmarks. It makes revisits and backlink building for any new sites so much faster.
And hey presto on the second page of my little keyword search we find a winner:
Upon visiting the site I do have to do a little digging to find a post with comments, but when I do it is perfect:
There you have it, one nice and simple way to find dofollow related sites on which to build backlinks. Of course there are many other ways to look for dofollow sites and build links. I will cover a good few of them in the coming weeks.
